Well it was going to happen eventually but it is still hard to believe the Honeywell 9520  bar code scanner has been discontinued. This has been a best selling scanner for over a decade. Affordable, fast and rugged were the hallmarks of the Honeywell 9520.

The 9540 will still be available however Honeywell is raising the price to a level we feel is not as great a value like the 9520 always was. So we started thinking about scanners and which model will become our go to scanner. We think we have decided on the CODE CR950 for several different reasons. First it is affordable, it is an image scanner so a better pattern than the 9520 was, it is presentation or handheld, serial or USB. We really think this is a great replacement.

The SAM4s SPS-520 FT cash register is the most advanced model on the market today. Why you might ask? Well the SAM4s company has been very aggressive in designing and bringing to market the most feature reach registers in the world. SAM4s software for cash register is a huge time saver

SAM4s software is available for many of their cash registers. Often times this type of tool will help with your programming and set up of the cash register. In the case when you have hundreds or thousands of PLU's or UPC's SAM4s software can save you hours and hours of your time.

Another good reason to us SAM4s software for cash registers is to be able to take your "Z" reports from your PC, which of course will allow you to interface to other software packages like Quick Books or Excel.

Many cash registers can be polled remotely over the internet while others are better suited for a direct serial connection between the cash register and the PC with the SAM4s software installed on it.

A few of the registers and software options do allow for inventory control. The inventory works well however be prepared to put in the work an inventory system takes to be worthwhile.
